The most precious wish of Ruben was a Zwitsal experience. Unilever and Make-A-Wish partnered up with Scent the Brand to make this happen and surprise him with a Zwitsal experience with all kind of scented goodies, products and his own Zwitsal scent tester. Ruben ontving tevens een op maat gemaakte parfum workshop van Scent the Brand in de Make-A-Wish camper, waarin hij zijn eigen Zwitsal parfum kon samenstellen vanuit verschillende grondstoffen en ingrediënten. For children with cleft and their parents
Children born with cleft need to undergo several surgeries. A reoccurring traumatic scent experience for these babies and youngsters is the moment the mask is placed on their mouth & nose just before they go under anesthesia. Scent the Brand visited the operation room of Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden to experience and develop this anesthesia scent that is directly linked with trauma in the brains of the children.
Short anecdote: we had to make sure not to sniff the benchmark scent neither too intensely nor too long during the development process, otherwise we would have literally fallen asleep.
We added the developed scent to the new educational/informative book of Mariska Hartendorp: ‘Uniek Ben Jij’ (‘You Are Unique’). This way the kids and their parents can emotionally prepare for the upcoming traumatic smell. A playful, therapeutic and sensorial way to enhance the processing of traumatic memories.
